The People’s Millions – we need your help!

Young people and alcohol abuse is a very real problem. Through our work in schools we have met child alcoholics as young as 11. Every single day 13 children are admitted to hospital as a result of binge drinking.

At alcoHELP it is our aim to help children and young people better understand the dangers of alcohol, and give them the information to make the right Choices for Life.

We set up alcoHELP in 2005, taking our own first-hand experience of how alcohol can tear lives apart, and turning this into good to educate children and young people.

Since then we have worked with some 57,000 children and young people in Essex. But this is in just one county, and we want to do more.
alcoHELP already work with more than 10,000 children and young people every year across Essex, we want to help more children in more areas learn about how harmful alcohol is as a drug.

But to do this we need your help.

The People’s Millions is our chance to receive £50,000 in funding, enabling us to take our alcohol awareness programme ‘Choices for Life’ to more areas and help another 10,000 children and young people.

Better-informed children and young people make better decisions, and this impacts on their quality of life, health and well-being. Making better choices about alcohol means that they are less likely to be involved in accidents, have health issues and miss school or college.

Young people who abuse alcohol are more likely to need the NHS and social services, cause crime and anti-social behaviour, as well as causing fear of crime for local people.

Choices for Life will improve the lives of people in our local communities. Our ultimate aim is to save lives by telling young people just how dangerous the drug alcohol is.

But we need your help and your votes to do this.

On Monday 25th November you have just one day to vote for alcoHELP in the People’s Millions.

Register your support by completing the form below and we will send you details of how to vote for us on the day.

Thank you
